As in other years, application has started for 10th class state level national talent search examination and for 8th class for Centrally aided National Solidarity and Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMSE 2021) examination.

Eligibility to apply:

  • Class VIII students who scored 55% and above in the final exams of Class VII are eligible to appear in the Centrally Sponsored NMMS Exam, 2021 for Class VIII. (SC, ST, 5% relaxation for disabled candidates).
  • Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Naboday Vidyalaya and state government run residential schools or any private school are not eligible for scholarships. Students must attend government sponsored schools, including recognized government schools / government aided schools / local bodies and madrasas, without residential facilities.
  • The income of the parents should be below the money. 1,50,000 / - (one lakh fifty thousand) annually from all sources. Income certificate must be uploaded.For salaried persons, ‘Employer Certificate’ has to be uploaded for the period from 01.04.2020 to 31.03.2021.For other persons, ‘Certificate of Income’ obtained from any suitable authority not below Jt rank for the period 01.04.2020 to 31.03.2021. BDO / Executive Officer (in case of Corporation and Municipality area).

Now you fill in the personal details with a mobile number (a mobile number and email id used once, cannot be used a second time for registration) and register. A registration number will be created which should be noted along with the password provided for future login to the system.

Step 2:

Login to your account using the registration number and password.

Edit the form and fill out other details and upload a scanned copy of your passport photo.

The image file for the image should be in .jpeg / jpg format and the maximum size limit is 50KB. Save the form. The form can be edited until you lock it.

Once the form is complete and correct with all the details, lock the form.

A print out of the completed application along with the format of certificate should be taken from the Head of School / Institution (HOI).

Step 3:

The applicant should take the printed application form and the format of the certificate along with the copy of other required documents mentioned below to the head of the school / institution (HOI) and get the signed HOI certificate with official seal and upload the signed certificate to him / her.

All the documents that need to be uploaded.

  1. Certificate of Parental Income.
  2. First page of bank passbook.
  3. Certificate of caste issued by the appropriate authority, if applicable.
  4. Disability certificate (40% and above disability must be certified by the appropriate medical board of the State Government / Central Government), if acceptable.
  5. HOI certificate signed with official seal.

How to get HOI Certificate?

The prescribed copy of the printed application form and certificate should be taken to the head of the school / institution (HOI) and the signed HOI certificate along with the official seal should be obtained.

Some important things:

1.Documents must be duly authenticated by the school authorities concerned. The maximum size of each scanned PDF document should be 200 KB.

2. Caste Certificate and Disability Certificate are required only for SC / ST and Physically Disabled candidates respectively.

3. Candidates are requested to check the email / SMS from time to time after filling up the online form regarding acceptance or rejection of the application given in the given form.

4. The rejected applicant will have the opportunity to amend the application within the date as per the notification.

5. Each applicant must have a bank ACCOUNT in his name. This A / c can be single or joint A / c (in case of joint bank A / c, he must be the first holder of that A / c).

Once the bank details are submitted it is final and no request regarding change of A / c number of the bank will be accepted.

6. Applicants who have Aadhaar card should positively link the bank's A / c with your Aadhaar card and mention the same in the space provided in the application.

7. If any incorrect information is found in the completed application form of the said candidate, the candidature of the applicant may be canceled at any stage of the examination process without any reference.

Applications with incomplete / irrelevant information / pictures / scanned certificates will also be briefly rejected.

8. Notice for downloading online admit card will be given in the notification section. Please check out the Scholarship Portal and for more information on the exam.

9. For any clarification, the applicants can contact the District Inspector (Secondary Education) of his school district (DI / S (SE) address is given in the notice section of the portal) or mail to helpcholarships@gmail.com.

The applicant has to choose the district in which his school is located.

Apart from 23 administrative districts, West Bengal has two educational districts. They are- Barrackpore Education District (Sub-Division: - Barrackpore & Bidhannagar) & Siliguri Education District (Sub-Division: - Siliguri)

If an applicant is studying in a school under Barrackpore or Bidhannagar sub-division, he must apply to Barrackpore instead of North 24 Parganas or Kolkata.You have to choose the district.

If the candidate is studying in a school under Siliguri sub-division, he must choose Siliguri as the district instead of Darjeeling.

NMMSE 2021 Courses / Subjects:

There is no set syllabus for the NMMSE exam. The value of the items will be consistent with the level of class VII and VIII
The Scholastic Aptitude Test consists of the following: -
  1. Mathematics
  2. Physics
  3. Life Science
  4. History
  5. Geography 
Each question carries a mark. There is no negative marking in that test.
