It has been heard at various times that companies like Apple, Samsung and Google are trying to remove physical SIM slots from their smartphones. Although this news has not been confirmed yet. Android, on the other hand, is bringing a new software update that may feature a feature called Multiple Active Profiles (MEP). This feature allows customers to use three numbers on a smartphone.
It is known that the latest update of the Android operating system, the Multiple Enable Profile (MEP) feature is being tested on Android 13. After the release of this feature, customers will be able to use SIM cards from two different telecom companies using the same MEP on their Android smartphones. This means that the phone will have one slot for physical SIM and two e-SIMs. That means a total of three numbers can be used on a smartphone.
E-SIM is a model that works on any smartphone. E-SIM is a SIM based software that works virtually. Customers do not have to physically install it on their smartphones.
Customers will have to wait a few more months to use this MEP feature which is in the latest update of Android. It is said that the Android 13 update may be released in July this year.
