Malhotra's biopic film Shershaah received critical acclaim and is being praised by the audience as well. According to media reports, Siddharth Malhotra's starrer film was made in a budget of around 30 crores. On 3 July 2020, the film was scheduled to release in theatres, but later, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the release schedule, the makers of Pandemic decided to release the film directly on OTT.

The film premiered on 12 August 2021 on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Within a week of its OTT release, Amazon said Shershaah has become the most-watched Indian film on Amazon Prime Video. On the day of its premiere, the film was streamed by ten million people on OTT platforms globally.

According to reports, Sher Shah got record breaking viewership on OTT. This means that it could have earned around ₹18- ₹20 crore in the first week of theatrical run. If Shershaah was released in theatres, Lifetime could have easily earned ₹50 - ₹60 from theatrical running. The film starred Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Shiv Pandit and Nikitin Dheer in pivotal roles. The film is now garnering an IMDB rating of 8.4 out of 10. According to various news reports Sher Shah made it on a budget of around ₹30 crore which includes ₹2 crore for marketing and advertising costs. Amazon Prime Video states that Shershaah is streamed by 40 million people on OTT. The film is definitely a profitable venture for the producers and distributors. As per the appreciation of the audience and the audience, Shershaah is a hit film on OTT.

Shershaah box office collection every day budget hit or flop

Shershaah, the upcoming Bollywood war and action film yet to release on January 01, 2020, is directed by Vishnuvardhan and co-produced by Karan Johar. Predictions assume that the film has put in an estimated budget of around 50 crores. Shershaah, a biography on the life of Param Vir Chakra holder army captain Vikram Batra, is expected to work in favor of the film as the public prefers on-screen films that are dedicated to nationalism and the country. The box office collection is estimated to be around 90-100 crores. The decision whether the Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer will be a hit or a flop is not yet known, however, till date it is believed that the film will be a superhit. It is also being estimated that the film will make a good opening of around 10-15 crores in the first day collection itself.
